1. Mind Zen ✨ Insight Timer
The Insight Timer app helps to zone out and create an aura of calm. There are a range of music, stories, mindfulness and meditation. Don't worry if you can't meditate, I don't think I can properly either yet but it has so many great tracks to zone out and have some zen time. This app helped me so much last year during a 2 week quarantine period, definitely give it a shot!

2. Body Zen ✨ Yoga with Adriene
If you haven't heard already, Yoga with Adriene is a great Youtube channel with so many great practices from beginner to intermediate. I love how she give variations for different poses and she really nails minor adjustments you should be focusing on for a better practice. The practices are from 5 minutes perfect for a stretch during lunch. 😀

Describe your personal style in 3 words.
Structured/tailored, bold patterns, relaxed.
What do you look for when finding clothes?
I used to want something new but now I am conscious of curating my wardrobe. I want longevity therefore I look for quality pieces. I spend more time thinking about what I want to purchase and making sure it will add to my wardrobe. I also want clothing to reflect my personal style and who I am, not just have something for the sake of it.
What does sustainable fashion mean to you?
To me Sustainable Fashion is having quality clothing that I can keep, build upon and not turnover every season. Even if that’s something in a few years isn’t for me they can be passed on and maintain their colour and quality so someone else can love them. I prefer to spend more and have less to ensure I have quality pieces to love.

]]>1. Choose Locally Made items
2. Check they are made from Natural materials
3. Choose Quality to ensure longevity
1. Firstly check where the item is made, always choose locally made where possible - if it is not displayed then check with the brand.
2. Choosing locally made means less distance the item takes to get to you, you save time and CO2 emission.
3. Support local creatives and makers.
4. Buying local means you are most likely supporting a network of local businesses - If a business has strong values in locally made they are likely to choose local business for their supplies and operations.
5. Locally made and the handmade is more special and unique.
A decision to support local can be very powerful in supporting a chain of local businesses.
1. Choose natural materials to have a lighter impact on the environment.
2. Search for plastic-free and chemical-free alternatives à ie wood, organic, cotton, hemp.
Natural materials are better for you and better for the planet.
1. Always choose quality.
2. Good quality means an item will last longer and will need to be replaced less. This means less waste, less pollution and less wasted money spent.
3. Choosing quality is supporting the talents of skilled people.
Good quality leads to establishing a thoughtful connection with the item and creates greater memories.

(How sweet is the card Sam made for Anna 😊)
Very warming to see these bracelets bring a smile in this time.

1 year old!
Wow we launched a year ago!
Hi! I’m Hannah, designer, creator and maker at AURA Studios. I specialise in Patternmaking, Design, Silverwork and Natural dye. Let me share with you why I launched AURA Studios.
🔷 AURA Studios is where my skills, values and aesthetics collide. 🔷
It is my expression of self – it is how I can express my ideas, values and creativity using my strongest skills of sewing, pattern-making and jewellery design. There is no other way I can think to explain it other than, it is entirely me!
AURA Studios is an exploration of shape and placement, through fashion and jewellery.
My designs are inspired by my interests and my values influence the way I execute the garments. AURA Studios strives to engage in experimental design, challenge traditions, create quality and timeless pieces, whilst ensuring a light impact on the environment.
🔹 Interests 🔹
I am continually inspired by the Bauhaus movement and the value in craftsmanship.
The Bauhaus was founded in 1919 initially an art school set to combined fine arts with arts and craft, which developed into its own modern art movement. It is renowned for its unique aesthetic and influence on modern and contemporary art.
I am fascinated by the Bauhaus masters, art, photography, architecture and cross of disciplines. I love the concept of considering the placement of elements and the relationship between them. Whilst researching the Bauhaus Masters in my Honours I absorbed and interpreted their methodologies, from this study I was able to determine my own set of rules when designing. My process is full of experimentation and considering shape and placement through drape, collage and sketching.
I am also intrigued by craftsmanship, there is a real connection between handcrafted pieces and how one values a piece. The value reflects what feelings it brings you, how you care for it, what love and memories a piece might awaken. This aspect can reignite the loss of connection we have towards clothing, and help us cherish items for longevity.
🔹 Values 🔹
AURA Studios is continually driven by my values. The brand values stem from my personal values of reducing waste and reducing impact on the environment. At every decision I always research to find the most sustainable option that is in my reach as a small business. Because why not! There are so many great options and with a little research it is possible to reduce plastic waste, reduce carbon emissions and make a better decision for the planet.
Further I focus on:
💙 Sustainable fabrics
💙 Locally made
💙 Timeless design
💙 Quality & Longevity
💙 Sustainable packaging & reducing waste in the process.
After explain all of this I guess I should explain why AURA?
I am all for experiences, I wanted to choose a word to encapsulate all of the energies one would feel when wearing a piece. The energy of AURA Studios is care, value, calmness, inspiration and connection.
